Survey on CrowdFlower Basic

Mark Richardson | Oct 03, 2013

Hello community!

What is the procedure needed to run a survey on CrowdFlower?

Should I build the survey using your system or should I provide a link and host the survey on SurveyMonkey, Google Survey or some other survey site?

Regards,
-Mark

Hi Mark,

The short answer to your question is that both approaches will work. Please see below for approaches for each:

1. Using the graphical editor or basic CML, you will be able to create the form elements for your survey. These can be radios, checkboxes, text fields, etc. Building your job within the CrowdFlower system will allow you to monitor the progress, ensure all participants answer all the questions, and download the results to be used as you see fit.

2. Alternatively, you can use a third party survey tool and create a link from the task. This will direct contributors to your survey hosted externally and CrowdFlower will be unable to track the progress or completeness. Most importantly to your success with this option is to provide a code at the end of your survey that you validate against in the CrowdFlower task. This way you can ensure contributors reach the end before getting paid.
